In the final week before Christmas each year 4 class has visited the Holy Trinity Night Shelter to learn more about local homelessness. We delivered homemade soup which we had prepared at school. Not only did this help a local charity but we cooked the Soupe Aux legumes in French, having learnt all the vocabulary in our French lessons leading up to the event.
During our visit to the shelter, Rev. Sarah told us all about the Night Shelter and we asked lots of questions to learn more. The shelter is open every night from November to April and supports homeless people by giving them a safe place to eat, wash and sleep for free. The visit was a great end to our Homeless topic as we got to see first hand the support that is given to people in desperate need.
