With the local water being so hard, most people probably use a water filter of some kind. Did you know that Sainsbury's in Thorley has a collection bin to recycle them? We recycled ours at the weekend. Harrison - Cliff class
We replaced plastic tooth brushes with wooden bamboo ones. Therefore, when were finished with them we can recycle them. Also they will take more time to go bad. Overall this will reduce waste and help our planet. One tip for anyone buying bamboo toothbrushes for their family is to buy ones with different coloured bristles otherwise you can’t tell them apart! Or because the handle is wooden you could decorate the handle with sharpie pens. We also changed from bottles of soap to bars of soap.
I changed from using a plastic toothbrush and now I use a bamboo toothbrush. We now get milk delivered in glass bottles instead of buying plastic ones. We also save any clean plastic or paper bags e.g, bread bags and re-use them so we don’t need to buy sandwich bags anymore. Kiera - Year 5
Joshua Levin, Harrison class was keen to reduce plastic in his packed lunch. We replaced his sandwich bags for a reusable box for his rolls. We changed from individually packaged biscuits to using an old ice cream carton which we reuse. We also use a carton of juice which we recycle at home.
